The Presidential Proclamations Project at the University of Houston is a collaboration between Professors Brandon Rottinghaus and Jeremy D. Bailey, merging their interests in presidential power and the plebiscitary presidency. This is the most complete record of presidential proclamations known to exist and hosts a universe of proclamations from President George Washington to President Barack Obama. We have approximately 10,000 records and counting. On this website you will find a searchable database of proclamations (and related directives) collected, information on the function of proclamations and frequently asked questions about proclamations. Updates are continuously being added, so check back often. |
